As the 2020-2021 school year ends, we look back and proudly say “We did it! All year, in person.” Hill students were engaged in our program of Total Education – a strong Academic core, as well as meaningful participation in Art, Music, Drama, and Sports.

Here at Hill School we value the arts and believe all students should be engaged meaningfully in studio art, music, and theater.

Hill School started the new school year in person on September 10th. The program may look a little different, but our core values and principles remain the same.

We are looking forward to being back on campus on September 10th for the first day of the new school year.

Grandparents & Special Friends Day is a wonderful tradition at Hill. While we cannot be together in person this year we want this special group of people to know we miss them, we are thinking about them, and we are wishing them health and happiness.

Hill School has launched “Hill at Home”, our remote learning program, for all of our students in junior kindergarten through 8th grade.

Our annual country race sends our students through the hills and trails that surround our beautiful campus in Middleburg. And at the finish line, Hill students, staff, and families are lined up to support all the racers.

The holiday season brings together children and families of all different backgrounds and faith. Through sharing songs at the Holiday Program and participating in the Middleburg Christmas Parade, the holiday spirit brings the school, and the community, closer together.

At Hill School, we want every child to have confidence in their individuality and what makes them unique. We instill this confidence beginning in Junior Kindergarten with the “All About Me” project. This project encourages children to share what is important to them and what makes them special.

Staying connected with nature is an important part of Hill’s philosophy. Every year, our 5th grade class makes blue bird boxes that dot our campus, helping feed our little winged friends.

Despite an expanded bus service, to some, riding to school the old-fashioned way – on horseback – is high on their list of fun activities. Our Ride your Pony to school day is continuously one of the students’ favorites.

Thanksgiving is a special holiday at Hill. It’s a time to reflect on all the blessings we have and, more importantly, to give back to the larger community. From food drives to pancake breakfasts, we are truly thankful for our entire Hill family.

Every year The Hill School is proud to join the horses and hounds in the Middleburg Christmas Parade. With our lion mascot leading the way, our float handed out candy and smiles as we wished everyone on Main Street a happy holiday season.
