For the past 21 years, Hill’s entire school community – faculty, staff, parents, and students – have participated in a two and a half day Culture Study program. This year the school studied Poland – its geography, history, language, art, people, music, and customs – through a scientific ecomystery, song and dance presentations, art projects, hands-on learning, and a cultural feast.
This program provides all of us the ability to look beyond ourselves and gain a greater understanding of other nations and cultures. The eco-mystery, the traditional kick-off event, provides our students the opportunity to work together in teams made up of students from Kindergarten through 8th grade. While the older students lead the teams, it is the participation and contribution of each team member that builds community and relationships across grades.
